Visual & Creative Arts (2-year) and Visual & Creative Arts Advanced (3-year) programs appeal to students looking to combine professional studio practice with the entrepreneurial skills needed to build a successful career in Ontario’s vibrant and growing arts and culture sector. The program also offers the opportunity to build a strong portfolio of artwork that can be applied to further studies at Sheridan and other institutions. The unique curriculum has been designed to build progressively from a first year visual arts foundation to the final year where students can choose to focus on specific areas of a particular discipline. Students can exit after each year with an academic certificate, as appropriate.
Program curriculum features traditional drawing and design courses; training in the latest computer software; courses in the history of art and design; and business courses in professional practice and arts marketing. In many studio and liberal arts courses, students can choose from a variety of electives depending on their area of interest or career focus.
Students benefit from experienced faculty, some of the best arts and design training facilities in the country and close proximity to galleries, museums and studios in Oakville and Toronto.
